Mustached Farriers and Caribbean Queens agree New Noize is the place to be even on a Super Bowl Sunday. Hey everybody Haaris here with another New Noize. In honor of me working yet another Super Bowl Sunday, I went totally metal for the 1st part of the 1st hour. Why you may ask. It's a combination of 2 teams in the Super Bowl that I could care less about. I mean for reals, who cares if the Patriots or the Eagles win. As a NY Giants fan this game felt like a throwaway until kick off. I am no Switzerland and always pick a side and I had to root for those Philly fans. I love that city! Allen Iverson is one of my favorite athletes of all time and I saw the Gorillaz and MF Doom back in the day on their debit tours. I was glad to see then pull the win and not burn down their city. On top of all that the game was exciting, so I was kinda bummed that I had to cover the Reggae show before New Noize last night, but as Janet (or Miss Jackson if your nasty) says "that's the way love goes".

I started the show off with 2 bands going on tour for one of the most metal cartoons out there right now, Mr. Pickles. Yes, both Exodus & Municipal Waste are going on tour together. Their official promo goes something like this:

Thrash titans Exodus and Municipal Waste are about to embark on a 13 city tour in support of season 3 of Mr. Pickles: TV’s most satanic dog, who’s tunneled through the rib cages and into the hearts of metal fans the world over.
— promo dudes that are working this tour

I am working on doing an interview and giveaways if I can. Keep it here for more info and look out for Mr. Pickles Season 3 premiering on February 25th at midnight EST, on Adult Swim.

The 2nd hour I spun a track off of Amen, Rich Brian's latest album. BIG UPS TO MY ASAIN BROTHER, Rich Brian made history as the 1st Asian to have a number 1 album on iTunes this past Friday. Watchout for 88 rising, they are on a Brainfeeder trajectory. I also played the new track by Car Seat Headrest, "Cute Thing". Man, this guy loves to curse! It took me a little bit to clean that one up but at the end of the day, it was no biggie. This kid keeps putting out music and I keep becoming obsessed with it.

Back to the Super Bowl. Whenever the NY Giants don't make it I focus on the other big deal during the big game, MOVIE TRAILERS!

1st one that I lost my mind over was the new Han Solo Trailer:

I knew the new Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailer was going to show up but I didn't know how hyped I was going to act after I saw it. Also, Justice Smith aka Ezekiel from "The Get Down" Netflix series is screaming in every scene in this trailer. If I was stuck on an island full of genetically recreated killer Dinosaurs, I would be screaming the whole time as well.

IT'S INFINITY WAR TIME!!!!

The big surprise was the new Cloverfield Trailer. I liked the 1st Cloverfield and the 2nd Cloverfield is connected to the 1st but only by the thinnest of thin strands. The best part about Cloverfield 3 (or as it is officially called "Cloverfield Paradox") as soon as the trailed debuted during the Super Bowl, Netflix released it. So you can watch it right now! I will be watching it this week most definitely. Is it a prequel? Why is it in space? WTF is going on in this trailer?

The other big thing this week, the remake of Shadow of Colossus drops on the PS4 tomorrow. When I moved to California back in '04 I didn't game much as I was still setting up my life. Shadow of Colossus came out in 2005 and I never played it. 14 years later I am still trying to figure out my life BUT this time I have time to play this highly acclaimed game.

This was the best part of Sunday:

I'll see you next Sunday.

If you were looking for Grammy highlights you are in the wrong spot party people. Yes, the Grammys were last night and I heard it was one hell of a show! I did pay attention as anyone would in the industry but I also worked during the awards show as New Noize airs on Sunday Night from 9-11PM

I got to drop new music from Jack White who just released the 3rd song from his upcoming record Boarding House Reach. Straight up this new album is gonna be amazing if you base it solely on the 3 singles that are out there right now. Boarding House Reach is building up to be Jack White's most genre-bending disc yet.

Dabrye is bringing some serious heat on his new record as well. So far guest spots include Danny Brown, Roc Marciano, Quelle Chris, Ghostface Killah and DOOM!!!

Going through the 2 hours of New Noize you will see some heavy instrumentally inclined acts. Stimulator Jones new single "Choosey Lover" is the perfect post-1972 groove which belongs on anyone's summer mixtape. Speaking on the 70s Dead Oceans decided to send me the full length from a Texas-based band called Khruangbin. Khruangbin is one of those bands as soon as you hear their music you are mad that you just found out about them. I would love to sit here and tell you that I was down with Khruangbin since day one but that would be a LIE. The truth is I just got on them and their new record Con Todo El Mundo is in constant rotation. This may already be in my top 10 of 2018.

OH, and did you see that Hop Along is back with new music?! I know I am excited to!

I can go on and on about every act on this week's New Noize playlist but it's so much more fun if you follow New Noize on Spotify, that way you get all updates in real time.

Until next time humans.

It's a new week which means a brand spanking new New Noize. We are barely past the 3-week mark and there is already an overload of amazing music to behold.

This past Sunday I attempted to hit a whole bunch of genres rather than focus on a central theme. Despite my best intentions, I may have failed in this attempt as a nice chunk of these tracks have a "jammy instrumental" feel. Kicked off the show with new Jack White "Respect Commander" which is myriad of sounds and guitars, new Suuns which is 5+ mins of melodramatic feels, Xylouris White "Only Love" hits that international upbeat sound, NEW YO LA TENGO which is kinda like old Yo La Tengo (it's a good thing) and the smooth instrumentals of "Miss U" by Stones Throw artist Kiefer. Another band that may possibly make your Top 10 best new albums of 2018 is Khruangbin "Friday". Unfortunately, Spotify hasn't got any of their new music thus not making it to the New Noize Spotify playlist. If you like instrumentals then you will love Khruangbin, your pitchfork self will thank you.

To my surprise Of Montreal is coming out with a new record and shockingly their new single is indescribably catchy. I also dropped new Franz Ferdinand, Awolnation, and new Eels! The world always shines a bit brighter when there is new Eels music to be had.

In other non-New Noize news Cal-Trans has cleaned up the 101 and it is now open and flowing with traffic! Santa Barbara really needed some good news and it will be nice to get our mail once again. Talking good news I got to see both White Reaper and Spoon at the Arlington Theater and both delivered. I have never seen White Reaper live and was glad I got there early to check out their opening set. They freaking RIP and I highly recommend seeing this band live. Spoon killed it as they normally do. I haven't seen Spoon in at least a decade and it's safe to say they have not lost their magic. Their live production was subtle and their sound was like listening to them in a studio setting, I'm talking SUPER TIGHT. The set list read like a "Greatest Hits by Spoon" session and there was no one sitting in their assigned seats for their entire set.

LAST THING come this Friday 2 games are dropping, the new Monster Hunter World and the new Dragonball Fighters Z. I want both these games but it looks like I will be all about Dragonball Fighters Z. Here are some highlights of Dragonball Fighters Z Beta:

Before you start blasting me don't worry, I will be getting on my Monster Hunter game as well. I mean I did have a blast with the Beta as you can see:

I just need 3 more squad members to play with on a regular basis to hunt some freaking monsters, any takers? My name is MenglerMeng on the PSN.

And with that, I leave you until next time.

Hi all. Normally this place is for "fun" content. The majority of people that come to my site are either industry professionals, friends, family, some locals and a few fans. My normal spiel consists of my New Noize playlist, some fun talking points to hype and highlight artists on the New Noize playlist, and to inform the public off all things New Noize related. I pack in some humor, a collage of gifs and other content related to some other interests like sneakers, video games, food, movies, anime and anything Game of Thrones related. This week is different.

Santa Barbara area was ravaged by fires late last year. Over the past week or so it rained and with the downpour came and avalanche of mud which destroyed everything in its path. Lives have been lost, property has been obliterated, roads (including the 101) have been shut down, people cant get to and from work, kids cant get to school, Buisness have lost revenue and people are still missing. It felt wrong this week to do my normal song and dance here so instead I want to reflect.

I will say through all this darkness there has been an outpouring of humanity showing its best. Our community has once again come together in the face of this adversity and is dealing with it head on. Neighbors helping neighbors. People putting aside their differences and uplifting each other regardless of class, color or creed. In a world so divided its is amazing to see people come together when it really counts.

Happy Martin Luther King JR day.  See you next week.
