Welcome to Rocktober, the most Wonderfull time of the year. Crazy amazing shows, the weather turning, the nights are getting longer and Halloween will be here before you know it. October 1st is especially special to me as both my little brothers were born today, 8 years apart from each other. There are no 2 people on this planet that are more important to me. They have my back, always tell me the truth and drive me batshit crazy. These 2 kings of humanity are the nicest break your back for you dudes I know. I don't know how I got so lucky in this small life span to witness the greatness which is Hamza and Rohan.

Enjoy the playlist.

What a weekend! Fall has rolled in on a full Moon & I celebrated with the National at the Santa Barbara Bowl here in town. Come tomorrow a video game I have been waiting for over 10 years is dropping, Valkyria Chronicles 4. The first Valkyria Chronicles was like no other RPG I had ever played, the art style, the story and of course the game play/battle engine are top notch. PLUS THERE ARE TANKS!!!! Yes Valkyria Chronicles 2 & 3 were ehhhh. I did not like them due to them straying from the original battle system but the rumor was that Sega was going to return to the Valkyria Chronicles 1 battle system and a few weeks ago Sega decided to release a demo. As soon as I fired up my PS4, downloaded the demo I was instantly transported back into this world of war & conflict. I highly recommend this game if you like RPGs as the battle system is one of the best I have ever played. I was having a really hard time deciding what console I was going to download this on, the inner conflict was raging but the PS4 won over the Switch. OH SNAPS which reminds me I have to preorder this thing right now so I can play this as soon as this comes out. Don't get me started on my gaming backlog PLUS there are so many games coming out soon. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be a new addiction, but thats for another write up.

Feelings guide us in this thing we call life but what if one conquers space and time itself? Well, then you get what we call in the sci-fi world as the Predator and this past weekend we got to witness the next chapter this ongoing series. I have a special place in my heart for the 1st Predator movie. Growing up my parents had a massive VHS collection in the 80s, and 98% were Bollywood and the rest were an assortment of cartoons and Disney rips. 1 lone rated R movie stood alone. I have no idea how it got there but the Predator made its way into our small Elizabeth apartment and will be forever imprinted into the fabric of my childhood and now at 38 there is a new Predator movie. We have come a long way since the humble beginnings of this alien bar mitzvah and this latest version does not suck. Oh its New Noize time and I have been talking about the new Predator movie not sucking. I mean I really like how it built on the last Robert Rodriguez movie “Predators” and even had Predator Dogs in this new movie. It ties up a lot of the lore and grey areas to set up for what looks like a crazy sequel. There are so many small shoutouts and Easter Eggs from the 1st 2 Predator movies plus all the scenes with the Predators were fantastic but the rest of the movie was a bit bearable. Sorry I talked about the new Predator movie but it’s not getting the attention it deserves. WHAT?!?! I liked the movie, you should watch and tell me how much you hated it, or agree with me...I want to know.

1st weekend of football plus New Noize?!?!?!?! You cats are spoiled out there. New Noize as always delivers another highly diverse playlist with so many surprises you will think it's your birthday. Yes that last statement was cheesy AF but I assure you New Noize was not.

Pop Noir has a new track and its hilarious, apparently they don't understand white jazz and I agree. The new Dilly Dally track is ultra dark, and yes new music from Sir Paul McCartney made this weeks playlist. My music director is in LOVE with Iron & Wine and they decided to drop an new EP (it's solid). I re-hit the new Allen Stone cause its groovy & who doesn't love brown eyed lovers.

2nd hour was full of surprises as well. I am seeing Khruangbin on Wednesday opening for Leon Bridges and am SUPER HYPED! Con Todo El Mundo is currently in my top 10 best new albums of 2018 so far and I don't thinks it's going to lose positioning anytime soon. If you are in SB and going to the show at the SBBowl get there EARLY, you can hang with me. OH AND WTF IS Knife Knights?!?!?!?!! Apparently another configuration of Shabazz Palaces and it was in my heavy rotation all this weekend. We went to the great white north (does Montreal count?) with the Canadian collective know as Paupiere. FYI French with any type of musical arrangement behind it just sounds ultra chic.

September is also strapped with massive amounts of video game drops, dope movies and awesome tv shows but I'll break that out next write up, maybe...

Oh and yeah new Tom Yorke via the track Suspirium off the remake of Suspiria. Still not going gaga over this as Dario Argento's masterpiece Suspiria is one of my favorite movies of all time and I HEART Goblins OG soundtrack for this amazing film. YOU GOTTA PROVE THIS TO ME THOM. Yeah I said it.
