I played new Sonic Youth and new Tool, is there anything else really to say?

Album of the Week goes to Sonic Youth's In-Out-In. Unfortunately the album is not available on streaming platforms (except for the opening track) so if you are a Sonic Youth fan you must go through their bandcamp. Song of the Week goes to Tool's "Opiate2"

Batman was great & the best movie I have seen all year.

By the time next Sunday comes around I will be 1 revolution older earth time. It's been an interesting 42 rounds around the sun.

The state of the world is pretty insane & I honestly have no idea what to talk about here. I do a radio music show for those that like to discover, explore and have an itch for that new music scratch. It's times like these where I feel bad about talking about the fact that I still don't have a PS5 (for elder ring or Horizon Zero Dawn 2) new Yeezy Boost 350 V2 "MX Blue" (that I will catch an L on March 5th), turning a year older next week and how the FUCK is Attack on Titan is going to end while we are on the brink of WW3...But here goes.

Song of the week goes to The Afghan Whigs with "I'll Make You See God". It is surprisingly aggressive which always ups my expectation for an upcoming record, which they have not come out with in the past 5 years so...

Album of the week is Squeeze by SASAMI. It is a crash of all sorts of genres with heavy metal influences taking the lead. I mean what did you expect? I blast her shit any chance I get.

This past Friday I got to see the homie Josh Tillman aka Father John Misty play a sold out show at the Walt Disney Amphitheater with the entire LA PhilHarmonic & again I have no idea where to start! It was my 1st time at this venue, INSANELY AMAZING ACOUSTICS + FJM never disappoints. Sporting a shaved head and signature dance moves he ripped through his entire catalogue which came as a surprise as I thought he was just gonna stick to new music off his new record dropping next month. As with most things, I was WRONG and he only previewed 2 new songs, which I am not mad at. The live experience is just so much more extra with a whole orchestra added to the mix. It was magic and I was there.

Next Sunday we will meet again, peace out until then.

We are back in full force! Took Super bowl Sunday off whilst I was in Vegas. I lost some money, some of my dignity and rocked the fuck out of a Marvel Vs Capcom cabinet off 1 quarter. Also one of my best fiends got married but again like I said I DOMINATED in Marvel Vs Capcom.

Let's talk New Noize shall we. Album of the Week belongs to Beach House with their new on Once, Twice a Melody. It was described as "driving far away with a cigarette in hand with the window down" I couldn't describe this mood any better. This is one of those records that you you have to listen to in order to get it's full effects. It does make me sad that they are not pulling into Santa Barbara in their 2022 tour.

Talking about tours not coming to SB what happened Father John Misty? He is officially on tour But NO Santa Barbara dates as of now which is a surprise as he has come to our sleepy beach community on every tour. I will be driving down to LA to see him play with the entire Phil Harmonic.

Song of the Week goes to Oceanator "Bad Brain Daze" its a bit aggressive kinda like how I like my veggie dumplings.

Small programing note I cut A LOT off this past show, almost 3 extra hours worth! Missing one Sunday will do that so trust come next week it may be heavy on the electronic side of things.

In other OTHER news Capcom announced a few things, Street Fighter being one of them. The other is a collection of games crammed into one 35 year collection game celebration all things Capcom fighting aptly named “Capcom Fighting Collection” and one of there is 1 game in this collection that I am hyped for which happens not to be a fighting game. The OG when you talking block chain, the REALLY REAL ONES know, Super Puzzle Fighter II TURBO.

Am I buying the Capcom Fighting Collection to play one game, Yes I am buying Capcom Fighting Collection to just play Super Puzzle Fighter II TURBO. Plus it will have online play…Gamer tag will be given out on request and online matches will be played.

See ya next week.

Hype locked in and New Noize delivered to the masses here in Santa Barbara and today, like every Monday, the show is now available to the masses.

This past Saturday I went down to LA to check out one of only two Mitski pop ups here in the US. It was great! I got a record, a shirt and got to make a new friend in the industry. It is always amazing to meet a person you work with but never have seen before, mask and all!

Talking about Mitski "Laurel Hell" is this week's New Noize Album of the week. There is not a bad track and demands to be listened to cover to cover, yet every song can stand alone as a single. There is a very warm sensation that comes across while you listen to it digitally so you can imagine that the vinyl experience was extremely satisfying. If you are a fan of the 80s Mitski has got you on this one, there are a few standout tracks including "Stay Soft", "Love Me More" & "Should've Been Me".

This week's New Noize Song of the Week belongs to Rosalía with "SAOKO". Rosalía is all over the place as she & ARCA just colabed and created a new radio station in the Grand Theft Auto V. If you game then you know. If you don't, my gamertag is MenglerMeng on the PSN. Getting back to this new track "SAOKO", which is a pure banger, has got a bananas video that may cause heart attacks if you are over the age of 40. I will be 42 next month.

Also after watching this video it begs to ask the question, are helmets that allow handlebar hairstyles street legal? I hope so...

SIDE NOTE: HAVE YOU BEEN WATCHING ATTACK ON TITAN? NO? WHY? IT IS THE BEST TV SHOW EVER MADE. I know bold claims. Watch the last 3 seasons and tell me I am wrong. AoT is on its final arc with a handful of episodes left and I am shocked at what's going on. This season's opening theme song "The Rumbling (TV Size)" by SiM is #1 on the Billboard Chart in Rock (as of this past weekend's reporting) and I AM THE ONLY PERSON IN RADIO WHO PLAYED THIS SONG! Or at least in specialty. ANIME WILL SAVE US ALL.

No show this Sunday as it is the Super Bowl so I'll catch you next next Sunday.
