Hello from the otherside. 41 and feelin, well 41. The Grammys were Sunday and Thundercat won one of those golden megaphones so that makes me feel good. Also Elton John needs to punch someone or he is a liar.

Sunday also gave us a brand new New Noize. What do you think the new music takes a break for extended birthday weekend celebrations? Naw sun I ain't 24 anymore...

Still haven't seen Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 but when it happens I will let you know.

Its FINALLY MARCH and I got some great news. Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time is coming out on March 8th. I turn 41 on March 9th. Coincidence? ABSOLUTELY but I do like to fool myself into thinking there is magic left in this world and somehow some force wanted to make this human smile inside. Even though its not releasing in the USA (hopefully they somehow figure this out) Maybe I'll do some content for my personal love of this specific series and its visionary director Hideaki Anno.

There was New Noize last night and I delivered another surprisingly amazing set full of a bunch of deep dives on some of my favorite full lengths. I have had the Cloud Nothings record for a while now even though id released this past Friday & can envision myself rocking The Shadow I Remember well into my 50s...If I make it to 50 that is.

See you next Sunday where we will be there will be only 1 day that separates us from Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time.

WHY CAN WE NOT HAVE GOOD THINGS!!!!! OK now that my tantrum is done I get it, trust me I do. If you haven't been paying attention Daft Punk has officially retired after 28 years of changing the game (I mean their last album came out in 2012 but still). Here is my "safe" Daft Punk story. I went to Coachella to see 1 band, Tool. Let me be clear, not only was I seeing Tool at Coachella that year (2006), I had 4 more Tool shows to see on that tour and this was to be their 1st show of 10,000 Days. Tool was playing Sunday, so I decided to see Daft Punk Saturday night. I liked Daft Punk's music but was not in love with these humans/I mean robots. As I made my way to the Mojave tent I caught the end of Audio Bullys set and connected with 2 hommies from Santa Barbara randomly (although I'd like to think it was through the magic of friendship and fate). Then all of a sudden I saw a fucking Pyramid roll out onto the stage and said to myself "How are they gonna do use that"

The lights went out. The crowd's collective energy was about to surge and then Daft Punk emerged in the Pyramid amidst oodles of fog, lights, lasers and their brand of electronic goodness. The rest as the saying goes, is history.

Retirement though? I guess they are human after all...

Thanks for everything Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter aka Daft Punk. You did it right.
