Only a few Sundays left in the year but don't fret, the new music game is still popping off and so is this past Sunday's New Noize.

1st hour was all sorts of rock related things. Wet Leg will be on everyone's new music playlist this week with good cause, this new single, "Too Late Now", is just as fun as their last single and am looking forward to their full length out in early April of 2022. I dug deeper into the new Failure Album "Headstand" (which is totally worth your time especially if you are a Failure fan) Did you see that Bloc Party has a new single out? And the best part it doesn't suck, it actually kinda rules but I'm not holding my breath. Last time I saw Bloc Party play live they were not the same band that used I used to trek miles to see. Personally I am ultra happy of getting the new BORIS track "Drowning by Numbers" coming out on sacred bones. Am I hyped for this new record? Hecko to the yesso. Apparently Wata is spearheading the direction of new record (out in January) so I am extra pumped as Wata is an overlord of shredding goodness. Plus the new album is simply called “W” It probably has something to do with Wata taking the lead. Also BORIS "Drowning by Numbers" is the New Noize Song of the Week.

Moving on to hour 2 and we got higher in the BMP rate. New DJ Harrison album "Tales form the Old Dominion" would have claimed the album of the week but Arca had other plans. Who drops 4 albums 4 days in a row? Arca does and she does so in full form. Each "kick" record is a masterpiece of sound
but to release all 4 had to be a mountain of labor, love and confidence which she has in spades. 2021 should be known as the year of the Arca and this mutant girl put her stamp right at the end of this year. So yes, the New Noize Album of the Week is "KICK ii, KicK iii, kick iiii, kiCK iiiii" by Arca. ALL ARCA ALL DAY.

As we head into the last few weeks of 2021 I will be doing my annual New Noize Holiday Special as well as my Best of New Noize 2021. The exact dates are TBA but i'll let y'all know wassup.

I'm BACK! Happy post Thanksgiving and you know there was New Noize this past Sunday. I had over 5 hours of new music that I had to cut down to a 2 hour set, which is always hard but a good problem to have nonetheless. It's crazy how much the industry has changed. Only a few years back usually the new music game starts to wind down but not in the later weeks of the Year of the Savage.

New Noize song of the week goes to Sweeping Promises "Pain Without a Touch". It's got everything, upbeat with lofi style garage rock goodness with west coast Go-Go vibes. Give it a spin, it's fun AF.

Talking indie garage rock bands Woolbright latest EP "Carousel" is the New Noize Album of the Week. Go on a journey and fingers crossed that it resonates.

Only a few more New Noize shows until the year is over, and what a year it has already been! I will be doing some sort of holiday special closer to Christmas plus the Best of 2021 is coming, stay tuned.

I AM SO TIRED. I have been on tour since last week

  • Saturday Kikagaku Moyo and Khruangbin

  • Monday Yves Tumor

  • Tuesday Dry Cleaning

  • Friday SASAMI & Japanese Breakfast

  • Tomorrow Wavves

Every show had something wild, amazing and unique. It is nice to be back in my element.

New Noize showed up to the dance as the most superiorly diverse new music program in all of radio. Oh you don't believe me? I'll wait while you fact check

.
.
.
word. Like I was saying, New Noize Song of the Week belongs to the songstress known as Mitski with "The Only Heartbreaker"

Album of the Week was EASY AF to pick this week. Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak mixing it up as SILK SONIC and if you haven't listened to this album then you have serious issues.

FYI there will no NEW NOIZE this coming Sunday BUT I will be back the following Sunday after Thanksgiving.

See ya in a few.

I already have turkey on the brain but we are getting way ahead of ourselves. We got New Noize but first I saw Kikagaku Moyo and Khruangbin this past Saturday for the last SBBowl show and it was magical. At one point Khruangbin went into a little bit of a medley and played not 1 but 2 MF DOOM beats/instrumentals(back to back) and I truly lost my shit. I LOVE VILLAIN...

New Noize was killer with so much coming out this past week.

Song of the Week was easy cause I have a huge bias when it comes to BORIS. Wata came out with a new fuzz pedal and decided to release 2 new songs on a ultra indie Japanese label KiliKiliVilla. Getting this track was difficult but I am new best friends with Taro who works at KiliKiliVilla records. Needless to say, BORIS "Reincarnation Rose" is your New Noize song of the Week. Side note, Taro was cool enough to send me 2 other Japanese bands on KiliKiliVilla and NO NO NO should be on your A&R radar.

Album of the week could have gone anywhere but for me it's Swim Camp new one "Fishing in a Small Boat" If you like garage rock then you will like Swim Camp.

In other news I would be lying if I said I wasn't hyped for the new live action Netflix Cowboy Bebop on the 19th. Please don't suck.

FYI There maybe New Noize next week depending on how everything shakes out for Thanksgiving mode in Florida...Yay for parents but Florida.

See you in Space, I mean next Sunday(maybe) Cowboy...
