Hey there party people. I just found out I have a 4 day long weekend and did not plan accordingly. Corporate calendars am I right?!?!?! It is what it is, let's talk New Noize.

This week's New Noize Album of the Week comes all the way from Karachi Pakistan, specifically Slowspin with "TALISMAN". It is a fantastic record that should grab your attention especially if you rocked with Arooj Aftab. Slowspin standsout soincally and is very difrrent from Arooj but they have a similar style. Check out TALISMAN from cover to cover. I also have to mention Salami Rose Joe Louis new album that also just dropped, "Akoumatikous"  which I could not pronounce on air but I highly recommend. Brainfeeder aka Flying Lotus' label does not miss. Summer Salt also came out with a perfect companion album for nice weather, "Campanita". Now I just need this fog layer to burn off. Another fantastic record you should check out is "Tracey Denim" by bar italna off Matador Records.

The New Noize Song of the Week was no surprise to anyone who knows the show or myself. Anderson Paak and Knxwledge aka NxWoories just dropped their new single "Daydreaming" and it has some sick guitar licks. They have one other newish track that they premiered back in the beginning of this year with H.E.R. on guest vocals. This album is in top 10 most highly anticipated records.

There is still so much to talk about, movies, anime and summer vacation but I'll save that for next time.

What up party people! Another week has come and gone which means another New Noize in the books.

The New Noize Song of the Week belongs to a little band with a huge sound, feeble little horse with "Pocket ''. Saddle Creek has done a great job signing bands with unique style and I am waiting with great anticipation for what the full album will sound like.

New Noize Album of the Week goes to Overmono with "Good Lies" . I was lucky enough to see them open for Chemical Brothers here in Santa Barbara earlier this year and WHAT A RECORD. They have these Caribou like elements in all the right ways. Check out "Good Lies" and tell me you don't feel it and I'll point out someone who doesn't like fun.

We all know the biggest drop of last week, Link is back in the next chapter of  The Legend of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom. The game is amazing but I am fucking lost as hell. I have put in less than 5 hours and currently I have a shield, a skirt and large stick for any oncoming enemies, so basically how I roll in real life.

Until next Sunday.

Your boy IS BACK!!!!! Did you miss me? Big ups to all who made time for some real life experiences. Did all the things including seeing a Yankees game, going to terminal 5 to see M83, eating mad samosas and so much more.

I had to cut off a TON of music playing catch up all week so apologies if this isn't as new as my other sets, but what a set. This playlist is all over the place in a good way.

The New Noize Song of the Week was difficult AF to pick but I went with Crumb's "Dust Bunny" Don't get me wrong I can't wait for the new BORIS x Uniform colab record out later this year on Sacred Bones but this Crumb split is slick.

New Noize Album of the Week goes to Indigo De Souza ``All of This Will End '' Indigo's continuing narrative really shines sonically on this record. It jumps styles but doesn't lose the core sense of what this album is about. So what is it about? Check it yourself and let this one ride cover to cover with no skips.

In other news TEARS OF THE KINGDOM is dropping this week. I do think this will be the game of the year but don't count out Final Fantasy 16, a next gen ps5 exclusive may take this crown but what a mountain Square Enix has to climb to dethrone the already unnamed king of games. Regardless, me and Link will be traversing Hyrule later this week.

Check you next Sunday.

Saw The Chemical Brothers last night at the 2023 concert season opener at the Santa Barbara Bowl and what a way to start. Overmono opened with a solid DJ set. The Chem Bros got on a bit late but played an almost 2 hour set. Having such a huge catalog was not an issue, they hit you off with melodies of your fav cuts covering a large portion of their archive. The stage production was top tier, I mean how many times do we get coachella headliners play the SBBowl. What a night.

There was also New Noize!

New Noize Song of the Week goes to Nabihah Iqbal with "Dreamer". Ninja Tune A&R getting it done signing this artist and I am starved for more. She has a few songs out right now and I highly recommend checking them out. It seems like she is trying to figure out her sound but that is not a problem, in fact it's pretty refreshing.

New Noize Album of the Week goes to Miesha and the Spanks with "Unconditional Love in Hi-Fi" (out now on Mint) . It's very punk but not necessarily punk music. It blends a few rock genres but doesn't feel forced, rather very natural with chaotic riffs, fun melodies and loud noises galore.

THERE WILL BE NO NEW NOIZE until May. For those in the Tri-State, mainly in NYC and NJ hit me up for hangs or don't and suffer from the absence of my presence. Also taking suggestions on what to do for the nine days I will be in NYC. I'm talking eats, spots to see and events to attend. So far I got M83 and going to a Yankees game.

See you in a few Sundays.
