Hype locked in and New Noize delivered to the masses here in Santa Barbara and today, like every Monday, the show is now available to the masses.

This past Saturday I went down to LA to check out one of only two Mitski pop ups here in the US. It was great! I got a record, a shirt and got to make a new friend in the industry. It is always amazing to meet a person you work with but never have seen before, mask and all!

Talking about Mitski "Laurel Hell" is this week's New Noize Album of the week. There is not a bad track and demands to be listened to cover to cover, yet every song can stand alone as a single. There is a very warm sensation that comes across while you listen to it digitally so you can imagine that the vinyl experience was extremely satisfying. If you are a fan of the 80s Mitski has got you on this one, there are a few standout tracks including "Stay Soft", "Love Me More" & "Should've Been Me".

This week's New Noize Song of the Week belongs to Rosalía with "SAOKO". Rosalía is all over the place as she & ARCA just colabed and created a new radio station in the Grand Theft Auto V. If you game then you know. If you don't, my gamertag is MenglerMeng on the PSN. Getting back to this new track "SAOKO", which is a pure banger, has got a bananas video that may cause heart attacks if you are over the age of 40. I will be 42 next month.

Also after watching this video it begs to ask the question, are helmets that allow handlebar hairstyles street legal? I hope so...

SIDE NOTE: HAVE YOU BEEN WATCHING ATTACK ON TITAN? NO? WHY? IT IS THE BEST TV SHOW EVER MADE. I know bold claims. Watch the last 3 seasons and tell me I am wrong. AoT is on its final arc with a handful of episodes left and I am shocked at what's going on. This season's opening theme song "The Rumbling (TV Size)" by SiM is #1 on the Billboard Chart in Rock (as of this past weekend's reporting) and I AM THE ONLY PERSON IN RADIO WHO PLAYED THIS SONG! Or at least in specialty. ANIME WILL SAVE US ALL.

No show this Sunday as it is the Super Bowl so I'll catch you next next Sunday.

OK so I know I promised BORIS' new album would have been this week's album of the week, but I STILL DON'T have the DL code for the new BORIS record (I have the wax) but i'm sure after my 20th request I will get some sort of customer service. If not I may have to apply for that job myself. What is the album of the week for New Noize? Where are my manners first off....

Hello! It is a new week and February is almost here. So many things already in the pipe & so much more to look forward to. Big up to NEIL FRANCES, they played a sold out show here in Santa Barbara and best believe I was there.

New Noize was all over the place as planned, though it was leaning towards all things rock. Getting back to the New Noize Album of the Week that goes to Pinegrove "11:11". It just dropped on Friday so give it a chance and tell me what you think

The New Noize Song of the Week was difficult to choose. Toro Y Moi, XXXTENTACION, SOAK, & Mint Field all released singles but for me the real stand out was the new track from the bird and the bee "Lifetimes". It is nice to hear new music from this outfit and hopefully this is only the beginning. “Lifetimes,” was made in celebration of their 15th anniversary from their 2007 self-titled debut album for Blue Note. No word if we are getting a full lenght but why would they just put out a single right?

Next week best believe I will be back with a new edition of New Noize. The following weekend I will be in Vegas.

This MIX! This SET! This 2 hour show I call New Noize had all the things. I pride myself on the diversity of genres and it felt good to be totally on brand this week. I went just about everywhere this past Sunday.

DISCLAIMER and semi spoiler ALERT: YES the new BORIS album came out on Friday and that will be NEXT WEEKs ALBUM OF THE WEEK, but why? The Supply Chain issue delayed my package from coming in on time and I just got it dropped off on my doorstep. Since I am the king of slothiness I can not complain so we will push that pick to next week....Which brings us to the ultimate question, WHAT IS THE ALBUM OF THE WEEK?????

Lane 8 "Reviver" I played many of the tracks off "Reviver" over the past weeks. I thought the album came out but to my surprise he just released it on Friday. If you want to smile, throw this LP on and let it ride.

Song of the week belongs to one of the greatest bands to walk the earth and is one of the primary forces that made the guy doing this write up, Sonic Youth. Needless to say I was in utter disbelief & full of joy when they announced a new record. I like to call these types of releases "new old releases" It's Sonic Youth, and they were known to constantly create while on the road. Apparently they had been recording music while touring from 2000 up until they broke up and are releasing all these recordings on an upcoming LP, which you can pre-order on their bandcamp right now. If you do "In & Out" which i played this past Sunday and is your New Noize Song of the week. My hype cup runneth over with excitement of this full length release.

Till next Sunday my people.

Happy Tuesday! Monday MLK day caused a day off thus this update coming on a Tuesday, as opposed to all the other updates I do on Tuesdays due to my sloth factor. You are not here to hear about update protocols you are here for New Noize! You know your boy got you...

The past Sunday's set was a mishmash of all things that just came out or is coming out, like it is every week but this Sunday all genres came out to play.

This Sundays Song of the Week belongs to LIFE "Friends Without Names". Its the jam.

Album of the Week goes to FKA Twigs CAPRISONGS. Those in the know have been waiting for this mixtape FOREVER. The amount of unreleased tracks this young lady has is massive and her fans have been clamoring to get something like this. Not only is it out its WONDERFUL. Rework of older materials, new songs, insane collabs and fun old school skits in between every song (you know like they used to do on actual mixtapes). Every song hits. Twigs delivers a smooth & juicy album that will satisfy all the hunger for all her twiglets.

Side notes I re-watched the Eternals and IDK why it is critically rated as one of the worst Marvel Movies.

Last thing imma say is if I can achieve a fraction of My Khala’s her goodness then my time on earth would be considered a success. It's weird, I can still hear her distinctive laugh & talking smack in Punjabi. Until we meet again Khala Ahktar.
