Lovers unite! Another Sunday in the books which means another brand spanking new New Noize to share. It's still so early in the 2018 music game and already we have some amazing contenders.
In the 1st hour, I started with the "TalkTalk" the new Perfect Circle track and I have all things crossed that the entire album is a knock out like this single. I am also pretty hyped to see A Perfect Circle at the Arlington Theater here in Santa Barbara come April 17th. I mixed in some new MGMT, *repeat repeat, the Skull Defekts, King Tuff and a huge surprise coming from Matador Records with a single from Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks. I ended hour 1 with a Lovers Block to celebrate everyone favorite Hallmark holiday coming later this week.
Hour 2 was more madness. The other big news coming this week is the opening of Black Panther. So I started hour 2 of New Noize with X, one of the best songs off of Kendrick Lamar's curated Black Panther Soundtrack. Seriously people pick this record up, it's TIGHT! SHIRT also release his full length this past Friday. PURE BEAUTY is out now on thirdman records, definitely pick this one up as well. Personally, I am waiting for Jack White to do some crazy vinyl release for this. I got to play new Screaming Females and anytime I get to play a kick-ass NJ band I miss my home state. Lastly, I tied the show up with this insane Japanese collaboration between Keiji Haino & SUMAC. This record is the definition of coherent insanity.
