New Week new music on New Noize. I took the internets (specifically Instagram) to figure out how to start this week's show. The choices? Start with r&b or metal, metal won. I don't think the 10+ people that participated on my insta-poll realized how much metal I was going to play which did take up the majority of hour 1. I opened the show with the ultra abstract track "I've Seen All I Need To See" from the Body, followed up with the always heavy Monolord and moved into that colab EP between Emma Ruth Rundle & Thou. In the same hour I dropped new music via Tomahawk on & all the way from the Netherlands new Asphyx amongst other metal greatness.

Hour 2 we smoothed things out & I finally played new music from Jazmine Sullivan. If you haven't rocked out to "Heaux Tales" you are denying yourself an amazing music experience and more importantly insightful introspective on the most consistently neglected perspective in the United States, black women. This album not only touches all "the feels" it peels back truths from her perspective which are both personal and relevant to all women, especially black women (as I type this fully aware of my maleness). EVERYONE should listen to this record and I guarantee this will be on many MANY peoples "best of 2021" come the end of this year. Alfa Mist's "Run Outs" brought some cosmic grooves & you know I mixed in that new new from Chai, 4 women that keep redefining Kawaii culture through indie pop goodness Nippon style.

Currently I am working on getting some video game music on next week's show. See if I can achieve this goal as well give you all another 2 hours of new music discovery.
