Hey yo what a Sunday set it was! I had not 1 but 2 rockstars during New Noize, DJ Yeti and Eric from Rebelution! Before the why, let’s talk about how. My guy Dave aka Yetibeats called me and wanted to come into the studio to talk about some music he’s been working on. The guy has won Grammys with Doja Cat and worked with some of my favorite artists including ho99o9, and I have been harassing him to come on the show for the past 2 years, so to say I was excited would be an understatement.

So why did he want to come on? He has been working with Rebelution on some new music. All these guys know each other because they are all from Santa Barbara, so having them on the show was extra special for all the locals. I love doing interviews but rarely get an in-studio session, but again these guys are local. Needless to say the interview went very well. Wanna listen to it? Too bad, it was live baby!

What I will say is that Yeti sent me a few tracks that he has been working on including 2 new Rebelution songs (“Rock With Me” which will be coming out at some point), Obongjayar & Rawayana. Big ups to the boys for coming in and shoutouts to all that listened that first hour.

Because of the interview the playlist is a bit shorter, which made this set much harder to construct, but per the norm I executed.

That being said there were some great records that came out including The Bug Club, Boards of Canada, feeble little horse, Iceage and Sparta. The New Noize album of the week goes to ear with "Rumspringa," which is a Pennsylvania German term meaning "running around." I do not know anything about the Amish to ear connection, but what I do know is this record does do a lot of running around. ear has the minimal to maximal approach which creates this pop electronic experimental style which is unmatched. Creating cohesive chaos from abstract subjects is hard, but ear makes it look effortless. This is one of those records that you come back to and discover something new every time.

A Perfect Circle blessed the masses with their new single “Starless (Voxup)” which also happens to be your New Noize song of the week.
