HAPPY 420. It only seems like yesterday I was ducking blue heat while in the tri-state twisting up all sorts of herbal grades and now I live in Southern California where its so legal it's considered an essential business to stay open during a global pandemic. This is what we call a WIN as an American.

Another big W comes this past Sunday's via New Noize. New full length records dropped from Fiona Apple, Shabazz Palaces & DaBaby. If that wasn't enough to get you lifted this holiday a handful of single joints including new songs from Bon Iver, L7, Flume(feat. Toro y Moi), Car Seat Headrest & Jamie xx. Oh and did you hear about Muzz? It's a supergroup trio created by Interpol’s Paul Banks which includes Matt Barrick of the Walkmen and Josh Kaufman.

I'M BACK!!! I haven't done New Noizw since March 8th. I turned 40 on the 9th & took a flight to NJ. Then on March 14th tore everything in my left knee on and took a flight back the next day. Apparently a global pandemic wasn't hard enough to usher in my 40s and needed to cripple myself for the rest of the year, yay.

I'm still waiting on a surgery date as we are in a pandemic and my surgery keeps getting pushed. What isn't get pushed is all this new music! I missed out on a lot that came out over the last 4 weeks so after getting cleared by my doctor to climb stairs I am back doing what I do best, New Noize.

This week's show was a recap on all things amazing that came out. I was really excited to play the free drops that came out, those being Nine Inch Nails continuation of their "Ghost" series and new Aphex Twins. It sucks the reason why this music was released, especially with Aphex Twin's father passing (it wasn't COVIT related) so my heart goes out to the dude. Atticus' and Trent's double release of Ghosts Volumes V & VI were COVIT related and can't wait for the vinyl release. 

Every track is a banger and there is something for everyone on this list.

I just wanted to say this as no one knows the future. I love working in the music industry & I love what I do. I am so thankful that I still get to do a new music discovery show for the masses and bring some joy to both the listener and the artist that has not stopped with their release cycle. When we all get through this let's all make a pact to treat each, other with even more love, respect, and show hookups...

Lets just say what we are all thinking, are they going to cancel Coachella and all the other big summer festivals in the wake of the coronavirus ravaging all sorts of big convention. I'm surprised no one else in our industry is talking about this. Then again money/greed over human safety right? It is the American way.  PAX had an all time low attendance and most if not all conventions have been cancelled. Will e3, EVO, Coachella, Bonnaroo, Comic Con and all the other large gatherings be cancelled? Only time will tell.

While we wait for the inevitable "everything is cancelled this year" check out this past Sunday's New Noize.
