Hello summer! 2021 in Santa Barbara is yielding temperatures that are PURE BLISS in freaking January, thanks global warming. 

I wanna talk about New Noize and how amazingly chill it was (most of it at least) but come tomorrow we will have a new president which is fantastic, but I am fully aware we will be dealing with the same issues we have been for generations. On the positive side of things I am looking forward to all the musical acts performing at this year's virtual inauguration. Standing ovation to the music team to this president, the playlist kinda slaps.

The "playlist" is created by DJ D-Nice and Issa Rae's music label, Raedio, in partnership with the inaugural committee. The playlist is 46 tracks long as Biden will be the 46th President of the United States. Also Issa Rae can do no wrong.

This past week also brought some sorrow. "Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon A Time" has been postponed indefinitely. A new version of the "Shin" Evangelion trailer was re release with a tweet reading "Release date currently under consideration. Let's get through this together."

1st New Noize of the 2021 21 21 & the set fell on my Dad's Birthday day so last night's set was dedicated to him. Had to kick off the show with one of the best record's of 2021 and these Texas' cats know how to bring the metal. Highly recommend Frozen Soul's latest record Crypt of Ice. Did you know Kings of Leon had new music? I didn't until I spun their new single "The Bandit" and it sounds like classic Kings of Leon. Hopefully their full length will be as good as this latest single. Talking singles Aesop Rock & Homeboy Sandman released "ASK ANYONE", a tribute song where the duo rap about your favorite rappers favorite rapper over a Metal Fingers beat. Casper Clausen's new record "Better Way" is a great ride and this new Django Django "Glowing In The Dark" is the jam.

Happy 2021 21 21. As we hurdle forward to the future we must reflect on the past. This New Year started out rough when we all found out the force known as DOOM as passed, especially for me. DOOM is responsible for some of my favorite memories and will always be with me.

In a world of people trying to be heroes DOOM was the SUPER VILLAIN.

I could write paragraphs on paragraphs on his impact on the universe but I think he sums it up best.

WE DID IT!!! Here it is in it’s full glory the BEST OF NEW NOIZE 2020. Big ups to the Cool Rullah giving me one of his hour's show I could extend the "Best Of" show to a 3 hour set.

Since it's 2020 we are gonna do the list a bit different. When I did the "Best of" show this past Sunday live at 92.9 KJEE I started at #42 but for the purpose of sharing and the playlist I put the best at the top spot. Also please not that not all the songs were located on Spotify.

Let's talk Knxwledge & the album 1988, what a record! This guy dropped a new mix tape almost every month on his bandcamp (a few of them were free), was hyper active on his Discord plus his live twitch sets were some of the best that 2020 had to offer. Knxwledge was the hardest working man in music this year and we here at New Noize recognize this feat of amazingness. Don't believe me?
