My favorite weekends are long weekends but I hate when my carefully laid plans fall apart right as they start. What didn't fall apart is New Noize, the constant juggernaut that goes against the current of the chaotic mundane existence.
Arcadea’s “Fuzzy Planet” is my Song of the Week because it does that beautiful, messy genre-drift thing where you’re not sure if you're listening to a synth-prog space opera or a fever dream scored by a drum machine with a god complex. Either way, it works.
I love me a good firework. A small compact package that is shot into the atmosphere only to explode and light ap the night sky for the briefest of moments but OH WHAT A MOMENT. That's how I feel about "Dancing Shoes", the newest EP by Nilüfer Yanya. Brief. Beautiful. A little dangerous.
Freedom isn't free, it costs a buck o five. New Noize still free every Sunday...
...fuck yeah
