Hey yo what a week! I saw Cherry Glazerr ,Portugal. The Man & alt-J this past Saturday and it was wonderful to be at the 1st show at the SBbowl.

This week's "Song of the Week" is The Smile "Skirting on the Surface". I will say that the new track off Nigo’s tape "Come On, Let's Go" featuring Tyler, The Creator is going to be the one of the best hip hop songs of 2022. Which actually brings me to...

...This week's "Album of the Week" Nigo "I Know Nigo" This album is jammed with features, freestyle and all sorts of other fuckery, check it.

Also we saw a man slap another man at the Oscars, then 20 minutes later the slapper gets onstage to win an Oscar and then saying some nonsense about being all about love? I just want to shoutout the Japanese TV crew for not cutting and letting us all witness this real moment. No judgment, just damn.

Also this Sunday will mark the end to the GREATEST TV SHOW OF ALL TIME at least in my humble (ok not so humble) opinion. Episode 12 (87 in the total series) of Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 is scheduled to release worldwide on Sunday, April 3rd, 2022. I have been waiting for this conclusion for so long I was an actual happy person when this series first premiered back in 2013. Me and my melancholy ass will be glued to the screen to witness how this will all end. WHAT A RIDE! I understand why humans of a certain age don't watch anime but Attack On Titan supersedes any expectations you may have.

Also Also come the end of this week we are officially in Ramadan season so give your Muslim friends a dap and a bit of leeway for the next 30 days or so.

See ya next Sunday.

I know why you are here, for that new new. I am not gonna waste your time with the normal fun time write up cause does it mean does it really matter?

Not really so here are the good bits:

The best way to describe what's going on is through the outlet of music, like the kids say these days it's my love language. More accurately, at least for me, it is the only vessel I can use to truly communicate with anyone but only if you get it.

"One Step Forward, Two Steps Backwards" chorus by reggae legend Max Romeo has never rung so loudly, truly & deeply:

See you next Sunday

Thanks to all the people that hit me up, in person or remotely. I felt the love & it felt good. 42 years, it's crazy. I thought I would have burnt out by now but I haven't. Unconfirmed doctors conquered I'm a medical anomaly.

New Noize was extra on the diversity portion yet it had a nice theme going through the whole show. Which brings me to the music. So much content to get through I had to cut almost an hour's worth of content.

Album of the week was difficult! So much came out, new full lengths from The Simps, KAINA, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, Widowspeak, Shenseea, and Fly Anakin but the New Noize Album of the week goes to NJ's Ho99o9. Their latest release SKIN is a hyperextension of their multi genre style. Ho99o9 has managed what Rage Against the Machine did back in the 90s when they first hit the scene. Were there other bands like RAGE tha combined harcore/metal with hip hop? Of course there were but RAGE made this mix uniquely theirs. Same goes for Ho99o9. theOGM and Eaddy (the 2 members of Ho99o9) manage mix hardcore, metal, hip hop, electronic & indusyrail to create this sound that many have searched for by none have attained for their own.

New Noize Song of the Week is "Struck By Lightning" by The Chats.

Thanks again for the birthday wishes, it does mean a whole lot.

Until next Sunday

I played new Sonic Youth and new Tool, is there anything else really to say?

Album of the Week goes to Sonic Youth's In-Out-In. Unfortunately the album is not available on streaming platforms (except for the opening track) so if you are a Sonic Youth fan you must go through their bandcamp. Song of the Week goes to Tool's "Opiate2"
