Oh hey there. Hows its going? How was the weekend? For some reason I always like Friday the 13th, its aways a precursor to a great weekend and WHAT A WEEK IN FOOTBALL!!! I’m still a bit sore on the G-Men getting blown out by the Packers but MAN it was fun watching A-A-Ron squash the hopes and dreams of the Cowboys.

Lets talk MUSIC! As per the norm, I dropped 2 solid hours of new jamz last night and my my was it a set to behold. Finally got my mitts on the Koreatown Oddity and its one of the best albums of 2017 so far. Talking about Koreatown Oddity can Stones Throw be stopped? Their last few drops have been simply fantastic. If I had more $$$$ I would have totally joined stones throw vinyl subscription for the year, stupid priorities. Oh and did you know there was a new Flaming Lips record? Did you also know its really good and will melt your brain from temple to temple? Give it a listen and let it all sink in.

I will be doing weekly “Album of the Week”. Follow me on instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/haaris_ahmed/ and see who’s up this week. Oh and I will be mailing 1 lucky follower the “Album of the Week”.

And lastly today is Martin Luther King Jr. day. As a son of immigrant parents combined with the current political climate that surrounds Muslims as well as those with Pakistani decent I must give my thanks, praise and respect to Martin Luther King Jr. Without his existence and contributions to American Culture & Civil Rights I would not be here, let alone programing/hosting the greatest 2 hours of radio on the planet. One day in the near future I am sure Dr Kings vision of what ALL of us could be, will be.

A new year and already its shaping to be pretty impressive on the new music tip. Lets be honest, 2016 for all accounts was a fantastic year in music. As we emerge in 2017 let the cup runith over with new music and as you can see from this past Sundays shows I’m swing for the fences. Things to look forward to later this week includes the new Flaming Lips album which will be dropping on Friday! Also looking forward to all the 2017 tours announces going on, they got my head spinning and hopefully NIN expands their tour from the 1 show they are doing in NYC come July.

In other news man its been raining A-LOT in Santa Barbara, which is great for us here in California. It basically has to rain for the next 8 weeks in order for u Californians to recover from the drought that has been plaguing us for the past however many years. And big ups to my east coasters and all who are getting dumped on.

Besides mountains of snow falling from the heavens it looks its freaking freezing. Check out this dope gif, its call an “Ice Finger of Death” or a Brinicle, it kills all it touches…

Im back from my 3 week hiatus from Trumpland Tampa Bay and the frigid Tri-State Area. In my 3 weeks I saw turtles, snakes, cranes, mermaids (for reals), the Buccaneers beat up the Seahawks, ate way too much pizza and bagels, hung out with the parents and bros, and attended a wedding.

This week I did a little Holiday Hour followed by my regular style of new music come hour 2. Next Sunday is X-Mass and there will be no New Noize. Next next Sunday is New Years Day, and there will be a special “2016 BEST OF NEW NOIZE” show.
