Ok ok ok it's a Tuesday and this update is coming late, my apologies new music pioneers. My corporate life took over and pressed me to this late New Noize write-up. But hey it's a new month, a new quarter, and here is the latest in New Noize.

Before I blast off I want to mention that this Sunday's New Noize is dedicated to both my younger brothers, Hamza and Rohan, both born on October 1st. They are 8 years apart and have been a constant source of brotherly ridiculousness. All jokes aside clan Ahmed is always strong even though we are physically apart. There is not a day I am in awe of these 2 amazing humans which I call family. Happy birthday little bros.

Ok up first is the New Noize Song of the Week is technically a song that came out the week before but in my defense do you know how much actual new music I go through? It's A LOT and things slip through but luckily I go around to play the new Pile this past Sunday. Their latest single "The Birds Attacked My Hot Air Balloon" of their upcoming EP Hot Air Balloon is worth your time.

So many album drops make picking the New Noize album of the week a burden but an exciting burden. The Wilco record is the solid cover to cover, Cherry Glazerr just released her best work to date, Slow Pulp is on the fast track of dopeness with "Yard" and least we forget all metal records I played in hour number 2! So who ended up on top? Blonde Redhead secured the New Noize Album of the Week. It has been a long time since their last record and I almost forgot how well crafted their albums are. It's like getting a postcard in today's times from that one friend that is always too busy galivanting in some other country and could have sent you a text but instead writes you a handwritten note with some sort of food foreign sauce stain that cause emotionally positive reaction immediately after reading it. What I am trying to say is check out "Sit Down For Dinner"

Again so many wonderful album releases it was hard to keep up but I did want to give an extra mention to YENSHIN!, a still an unsigned artist that produces tracks that everyone should hear. Seriously check out his latest ep "THIS MAKES THIRTEEN" which coincidentally has some serious Halloween vibes.

I saw Foo Fighters and Odezsa (Thursday & Saturday) both at the SBBowl. Two of the best shows almost back to back make for an exciting social life and a tired Ahmed.

Last point, October is a stacked month for my fellow haduken throwers. As my video game backlog keeps getting bigger decisions on what to play and what to wait on weighs heavy on my gamer soul. Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Wonder both drop on the same day, which one should I play??? Maybe I'll let the people decide. For real let me know what I should pick up.

Catch you post Friday the 13th.

It's the return of your favorite weekly new music show, did you miss me? I know you didn't but I live here so let's get into what we get into.

I missed a few Sundays and a lot of amazing albums came out which I obviously couldn't fit all into this 2 hour set return so don't  @ me.

The New Noize song of the Week belongs to bar italia with "my little tony". PURE BANGER.

Staying on bangers Doja Cat's new album Scarlet is one of the best records of the year. NO FEATURES, that's confidence and rare these days from an artist of this caliber in the current musical climate. Scarlet is personal, hard, aggressive, insightful, hilariously honest, and unapologetically Doja. She flexed on this project and created her best hip-hop record cover to cover. This deserves more than a moment of your time. Side note, I don't think you know how hard it was for me not to pick the new Mitski album for this week's New Noize Album of the Week but no worries I will bear this burden.

Oh, how was Chicago? Amazing. I ate haleem, finally saw K&D, rocked out with Queens of the Stone Age at Riot Fest along with many friends, took an educational boat ride and now I am an architect genius and celebrated an ex-radio DJ's 40th.

I'll see you next week.

I think we can all agree that the 4 day work week needs to be an every-week kinda thing.

What's up party people New Noize update is a day late cause of Labor Day, apologies all around. Only 4 months left until 2023 is done and is it just me or did summer fly by? Before I start on my fall madness let's talk New Noize

Song of the Week goes to Wajatta with "Again And Again".

The New Noize Album of the Week is more like the "EP" from SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE with "i'm so lucky" that dropped on Friday. It almost as weird as I feel.

A bit of a New Noize update for the next few Sundays, there will be no New Noize. I will be in Chicago trying to get into Riot Fest among other things. If you have any suggestions on other things let me know.

See you in a few Sundays.

I had a way better "pre-weekend" than you.

Thursday. I headed down to LA, had a killer smashburger from this spot called Heavy Handed and they hooked me up with free rolling papers. A bit of advice, get the 2 patty smashburger, trust me. Then one of my best friends and I went to check out the Melvins and BORIS kick-off their tour.  I didn't know what BORIS was closing the show, lucky I got there early enough to see both acts. BORIS closed with the song "boris" by the Melvins, I was surprised that no actual Melvins were on stage for that but all good.

Friday. The cat is out of the bag, I saw the Wu-Tang Clan (sans GZA & CAPPA) play Deckers and got to meet the entier clan. Highlights:

Inspecta Deck: Was talking Czarace then my friend came up to me and Rebel INS was like "cool jacket".

U God: gave him a high five then he asked me where the free shit Deckers was giving out

MastaKilla: mad chill and humble.

Rae: Probably the coolest clan member next to Ghost. I had met him via Bishop Lamont a few years back and when I mentioned that he and I were chopping it up.

Ghostface: I have met Ghost a few times but never like this. Introductions were made and he was cool, funny, nice, and pretty damn sincere. I told him about the first time I met him on my 22nd at this go-go-bar called Lookers in Elizabeth NJ. Tony Starks definitely enjoyed that and we chopped it up for a few.

RZA: totally blew me off but was nice about it.

Methodman: was surrounded by women so I didn't want to bother him.

Did I have something to do with the show? Yes. I consulted on this with the agency that booked the WTC. I am extremely proud and it took me a lot of time to get here so I feel, dare I say it, actually accomplished. I went with the WTC for various reasons but the one that made the most sense had to revolve around anniversaries. Specifically 50th annerversaeee. Hip Hop is celebrating 50 years and coincidentally so was Deckers! Sometimes the stars align. BONUS one of Ghost's producers gave me a song and you know I spun it during last night's set.

Ok OK Ok New Noize time. There was a bit of a country flare for the first half of the first hour of the set. Overall a pretty solid mix of diverseness that you are used to if you are a listener of this show.

Album of the Week goes to SPELLLING with "SPELLLING & The Mystery School"

Song of the Week goes to Shabazz Palaces(feat. Royce The Choice) with "Binoculars". So hyped for this full length whenever it drops.

Also who's going to Riot Fest cause I am.

See ya next week
