Longest Day of the year and its burning in Southern Cali, for reals did you see the firenado in Santa Barbara? Crazy right.

Big ups to the sun, its the best! Tonight is the night of the strawberry moon, apparently its a once-in-a-generation event and wont happen again until June 21, 2062!

Last night was Battle of the Bastards, what an EPIC episode, no spoiler but this gif says it all, Jon Snow is a total G.

Oh there was a show as well, and what a SLAMMING show it was. Not only did I break out a block of live at thirdman records I added the White Stripes John Peel BBC sessions, hope you and Jack dug it, I did. ALSO DEERHOOF IS BACK and their new LP, the Magic, is fantastic! I’m pretty sure you will be seeing this on the playlist over the next few weeks.

Since its the the 1st official day of summer and I like to game I had to spin a track off of Senran Kagura Estival Versus - Endless Summer, the deluxe edition came with a double soundtrack CD thats thick with summer time jams. Senran Kagura Estival Versus is a very mature game to say the least and its hella fun! Imagine Dynasty Warriors full of busty ladies, campy storylines, cheeky humor, and non stop combo gameplay. It's a 10 outta 10 ;) I mean check out these gifs..

Celebrate Summer, I’ll be back next week.

KONICHIWA!!! Your boy is back, it was a nice break but its nice to be stateside again, ok thats a LIE I wish I was still in Japan. I will be posting a ton of videos and pictures along with stories about my adventures in the land of the rising sun in the upcoming weeks.

So much amazing music coming out left and right. the big news is the new Avalanches, I am drinking out of the Kool-Aid and am pretty sure this record is gonna be one of the best drops of 2016, we shall see.

In hour 1 of course Death From Above 1979, IDK who is in charge of mastering these live records that thridman puts out but DAMN GINA they sound fantastic. I preorder and bought Shabazz Palaces but with no turntable at the station (i know I know) and no digital version I could not play it, hopefully in the next few weeks.

The Claypool Lennon Delirium record is pretty solid, I have to spend more time with it but I dig every track on it so far. The Gotobeds along with the Blind Pets are other albums I have only listened to once which require some more ear love, but I will say this, Sub Pop is killing it right now.

I also finally got to connect with Disasterpeace who did all the whole soundtrack for Hyper Light Drifter (which is coming out later on the PS4 and hopefully the Vita in the next few months). The soundtrack is extraordinary PLUS iam8bit is doing a special run of these on WAX, scoop em before they are gone here <---Currently in Pre Order Mode. Make sure to check out Disasterpeace jamz here

During hour 2 I played a block of music from some of the audio pick ups from Japan. Couldn't play any new vinyls as we don't have turntables at the station but I did buy some CD's. By the way the cd game in Japan is STRONG.

1st up is Boris, saw them play with Merzbow in Tokyo the 2nd day I was in Japan! They preformed Gensho live and HOLY F*CK it was one of the loudest shows I have ever been to. Anyways the merch table was selling a live Boris album called "Crossing Waltz” and if you are a Boris fan then you will love this double CD. The set list is crazy amazing. Crossing Waltz may have been an exclusive at this show but that detail is unconfirmed. I went ahead and played a live version of "PINK" off of "Crossing Waltz"> Boris is reissuing "PINK" this year via sargent house. The reissue of PINK has a bonus disc called "Forbidden Songs" hopefully I get some to play on an upcoming New Noize.

I then slid into some Japanese Metal (Greenmachine & Church of Misery) that the clerk at Disc Union recommended and tailed the Japanese Music Block with a cat I saw in Osaka called Aki-Ra Sunrise. Aki-Ra Sunrise was amazing live, he played so many strange instruments all at the same time it was pretty incredible. No worries I will report on Aki-Ra Sunrise later this month.

Oh did I mention I also M83 in Japan, they were GREAT!

25. BORIS “Farewell” relapse

Well kids first 2 hour show officially in the books, and it was pretty bananas! Had to  kick off the show with some new Radiohead, loving the new record right off the bat.

And talking about new stuff what a weekend for new music, James Blake, Death Grips and a ton for other records came out this past weekend that you should check out if you haven’t already. I had to drop new Jack White er I mean new Beyonce feat Jack White this Sunday, so many amazing people worked on Lemonade but “Don’t Hurt Yourself” takes the cake.

Surprises for me came 3 fold, Kaytranada and New Madrid full lengths are thick with back to back to back jamz cover to cover. The 3rd would be this single from Bassh called “Body”, WOW! The only thing I don’t like about Bassh so far is that freaking auto-correct is trying to auto-correct Bassh to Bash…

And I am sure you all are sick of this by now but the day is almost here, SET OFF THE FLARES I AM OFF TO JAPAN ON FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!!!!

I am clear for take off although TSA will have a field day with my body but hey I can’t blame them, I mean I would want to fondle me, right?

So any last minute suggestions, advice or points of interest for all things Japan will be accepted at this time. i thought the last track was very fitting on a personal note, plus I am seeing BORIS IN TOKYO.

-Programing Note- No New Noize until after Memorial Day Weekend, so I’ll see you in 3 weekends.
