Happy post Mothers Day! I hope all of you called your mom, I did. I love me Mothers Day, especially on social media. So often I open up whatever social app and I am bombard by bad news, newly found racist internet friends, whatever Kanye is saying, spoilers for movies I want to see, & pictures of peoples feet while they are on vacation (seriously we know you are on vacation, stop) On Mothers Day however my social media feed is flooded with pictures of our favorite person, MOM! I can not tell you how emotionally moving it was seeing all these throw back pics of faded Polaroid pictures of moms wearing high wasted jeans with old school hair styles and to all the new Moms struggling to make everyday semi balanced for their kiddos in this crazy world. Everyday should be Mothers Day on Social Media.

New Noize always happens on a Sunday. Mothers Day always happens on a Sunday. Put these 2 amazing forces together and you get a Super Sayjin Fusion of "Mothers Day Metal on New Noize", trust me it makes sense. This past New Noize was and will always be dedicated to the one that birthed us, MOM (until our robotic overlords figure out a way to make us without using conventional reproductive means creating a newfound race of human beings being bred by our creations in turn becoming the caretakers of humanity to break through into the next age) and to celebrate I played a whole block of Metal cause all Moms need more METAL in their lives. This happened all in hour 2 of New Noize so lets start with hour 1.

I sprung into the Mothers Day New Noize by opening with Beach House. I am the only one I know who wasn't the biggest fan of their last studio record (hipsters please don't flame me) but 7 is amazing from start to finish. The other big drop from this past Friday was the new Arctic Monkeys record and I dove into the deep end and played "American Sports". Talking about the deep end I played another cut from the Swords of Ditto soundtrack, another deep dive with Aerosol Weather off of Black Moth Super Rainbow's new LP and busted out some new Potatohead People (made up of Nick Wisdom & AstroLogical, both of which are  Canadian). OH and I'm pretty sure I'm the only DJ in specialty to play the new Washed Out single, "Face Up". Still waiting on the new Madvillian Record stonesthrow.

Hour 2 was for all the moms who love METAL and for the moms that didn't know they LOVE METAL. BABYMETAL's new song "Distortion" was the 1st in a 9 song "Metal for Mothers Day Block" where we went over all sorts of different new metal genres. Metal will always rule and so will moms so they are a perfect match. LIK brought the bloodcurdling to new heights, Fake Figures "Hole in the Sky" was a fiasco on audio and do I even need to talk about Burn the Priest new single "I Against I" (anytime anyone covers Bad Brains is it ever not AMAZING?)

In other news I am still playing through God of War and the game is solid so far. Rage 2 got announced from Bethesda games and even though its being made my Avalanche (instead of iD software) I am hopeful this game will be good.

Talking games I haven't "returned" to Destiny 2, well sorta. It's what i like to call a "soft comeback" but I'm too busy finishing up God of War, Swords of Ditto and my everyday practice of playing Dragonball FighterZ.

Last thing, if you know any Muslims be nice to them for the next 30 days or so. It maybe Yeezy & Misty Season, but EVERY YEAR Ramadan happens. Apparently it starts on Thursday.

Until next Sunday.

Kicking it with another brand new New Noize and last night we had some fun. In hour 1 I went on a streak of bands that feature female lead vocalists including Neko Case, Liz Phair, Speedy Ortiz, Snail Mail & Forth Wanderers. During this hour I highlighted a pretty cool local act that I think everyone should check out, they are called Internet not to be mistaken for the "the Internet" (Tyler the Creator's sisters neo-soul R&B act) Toward the end of the 1st set I spun Mr Tillman once to hype the his new music video, which you can watch right now:

Hour 2 was a total switch up. I reached out to the creators of Swords of Ditto, a new "indie" game out now on the PC & PS4, to get some music from the original soundtrack. A few tweets & DMs later I got in contact with Salkinitzor real name Niklas Ström who produce all the music and was nice enough to send it over. This game and the music are phenomenal. I mean this is just snippet from some of my playthrough but my oh MY if you like handcrafted Zelda-ish games with a supremely stellar soundtrack than the ones for you.

Thundercat has a new song out which you can hear for free as it is part of Adult Swims free track of the week program which now is going year round. I was also able to get around to playing new Sigur Ros who dropped 2 LPs this past records store day. I played a track off of "Route" and all the songs names are actually GPS coordinates so have fun mapping out where these jams are located.

In other news I did see Avengers Infinity Wars, it was great and no spoilers for anyone reading this. I will say if you are planning on watching this movie DO NOT GO ON THE INTERNET!!!!! There is too much that happened and I am sure you will be seeing leaks if you head over to any social media platform whatsoever.

Till next week playas

Hi ya peoples. Another week down and another New Noize completed. This past week was fantastic in all things music. On the live side of things I saw alt-J this past Monday, A Perfect Circle on a Tuesday and Portugal the Man this past Saturday. All these shows were fantastic in there own way, in fact I was asked to to the write up for the APC show by the venue and here it is in all its glory:

http://www.thearlingtontheatre.com/event-reviews-list/26-show-reviews/401-lets-talk-talk-about-a-perfect-circle

Getting back to New Noize this past Sundays playlist started off with some very longs songs. The show kicked off with the new Deafheaven track "Honeycomb" and it clocks in over 11 minutes followed by the other Kamasi Washington track which is a bit over 10 minutes. I had to hit the Ramin Djawadi Nirvana cover of "Heart Shaped Box" off Westworld 2 Soundtrack just cause Westworld 2 started up yesterday.

Side note I got home from New Noize, watched John Oliver and was so worked by this weeks shenanigans I basically passed out on my couch, so tonight is when I will be watching season 2. Why am I telling you this? No spoilers that's why.

Hour 2 I was souped to play the new Liz Phair, and to be fair I will always play something new from her cause she rules. I then played the last track off of the Habibi EP which everyone should be listening to. I got to dive deeper into the new Brazilian Girls record "Lets Make Love" and hit "Balla Balla"

Some other things to talk about is the new GOD OF WAR game, IT IS SO GOOD! The game is special, so far so AMAZING! Talking about video games I will be streaming my 1st play through of Swords of Ditto on the 24th. Please tune in and lets get interactive. Extra bonus if you have a PS4. Plan on getting Swords of Ditto and want to participate in the live stream let me know and we can rock co-op.

What about all these movies?!?!?! I am so behind. Still haven't seen Ready Player One, Rampage, or Quite Place. This week its all about the Avengers and then next week is Deadpool 2 time. According the new Deadpool trailer Deadpool is the one who creates X-Force and for anyone who actually read the original X-Force comics your mind has imploded. OH MAN PELASE LET THIS MOVIE BE GOOD, PLEASE. I love Shatterstar.

I love you cats out there as well, we will get down next week.
