Well, that was an interesting week. Prior to the New Noize this past Sunday I was able to check out Chromeo doing a DJ set at the MOXI here in Santa Barbara. This was bananas because the MOXI is a science center that has a pretty intimate rooftop where this DJ set took place and I have no idea how this came about but I like it! If we want to to get technical 1/2 of Chromeo actually spun. Oh they both were there but my mans was just sippin' on his drank and would turn a nob every 30 minutes as his better half put in work but again not only did it work, it was magical.

This week will be full of fun as I will be seeing BORIS on Saturday night at some venue in Camarillo, then come Sunday its JACK MOTHERFUCKIN WHITE time at the SBBowl. Hype levels are over 9000!

This past Sunday I dropped another 2 hour set on New Noize and I killed it. New Apex Twins followed by Helena Hauff, the Crystal Method and new Justice made all the bleep bloops music heads happy, seriously my phone lines were lighting up. I also got to do a Deadpool 2 vinyl picture disc and I am still cracking up at the fact that this is the 1st time a parental advisory was issued out on a musical score.

Hour 2 I did a BLOCK of new Sub Pop records cause Sub Pop is celebrating 30 years of being a label. NORMALLY I don't shout out people names I work with and I won't but I will say that the few people I know over at Sub Pop are AMAZING. The fact that for the last 10 years I can expose other people to this Label and it’s artists through the machine of radio is an indescribable feeling. Despite how cool this Label is I was not prepared for the amazing friendships that I would create within this industry when dealing with Sub Pop. They know who they are and I appreciate the ever living crap out of you cats. Happy 30 years and here is to 30 more! I also played new Kanye!

No New Noize next Sunday cause I'll be hanging with the humans over at thirdman records for some Jack White action.

Viva La Fiesta and what a fiesta weekend it was. Between the parades, confetti and crazy good eats I snuck into the studio this past Sunday for another killer New Noize.

I am LOVING this new Interpol, it holds me tight as it moves past heavenly bodies creating this insanely pumping rhythm of life I just can't put into words. Right after I hit the new song (Dark Horse) by Emma Ruth Rundle which takes you back down to the ethereal plains of our world haunting you with every sweet lick of that fuzzy guitar as the progression of these drum rolls make you feel you are barefoot on the tundra of your own insides.

I slipped in some fun with Bodegas "Jack in Titanic" and earlier that out the combo of Ty Segall & White Fence on the new track "Good Boy".

Starting off hour 2 and i had an almost 16 minute track by SUMAC and after hearing their music all I want to do is see these forces of nature live. I still can't wrap my head that freakin DJ MUGGS and I connected via facebook messenger and that s how I got this new music. And surprise surprise apparently Iggy Pop and Underworld have been working together and released this new EP. Its a great combination and def recommend a listen.

I tweaked my back hard over the weekend, Sunday was not good to me but it was for anyone who was listening to New Noize. So much to uncover over these 2 hours here is just a taste of how thick this show was.

1st hour was solid kicking things off with Emma Ruth Rundle "Fever Dreams" off her personal project out on Sargent House in September. Who the fuck is Capitol Punishment? I seriously never heard of this band but as soon as I played the single it was a no brainer to add it to this past Sundays playlist.

Hour 2 brought a slight shift to the overall flow of New Noize. I am hyper impressed with Sly5thAve reconstruction of Dr. Dre's songs. The full length "The Invisible Man" is an orchestral tribute to all of Dr. Dre's music. It has so many layers to peel back its bananas. Funk, soul, reggae, strings, horns, orchestra, singers, and total madness is just a few markers of this incredible record.

ALSO in hour 2 I did a little give away for Dead Cells, a video game out already out on Steam, but will be on PS4 and the Switch in early August. This "rouge like Metroidvania" game will sure turn some heads PLUS the music is fantastic. I gave away both the soundtrack and a Steam code to the game, and I'm gonna do it again this coming up Sunday.

Dr says I need a Backiotomy.
