A lot of important things happened on March 9th. Albert Potts patented the street mailbox in 1858. Barbie made her debut in 1959. Biggie Smalls was murdered in L.A. in 1997. But the most significant event for humanity?I was birthed into existence.

This year hit different—it was a Ramadan birthday. Instead of the usual blowout, it was a solo, silent day of reflection. 45 years in, and I’ve survived it all. Reality stays testing ya boy’s Deen, but we’re still here, still moving. And this year was extra special because it was a New Noize Birthday! So, how’d it go?

Song of the Week goes to Car Seat Headrest for dropping a 10-minute epic called "Gethsemane." It’s fantastic.

Album of the Week is Eternal Reverie by TOKiMONSTA, and what a celebration of her career. This record is thick with personal moments, layered behind vistas of melodies and grooves that make you want to move—even if you’re fasting. A summer record that landed before summer, so get into it.

Oh, and I do a birthday playlist every year. This year’s theme? All songs I’ve seen live. Throw it on and enjoy.

See you next week...
